Message from Loyola

Dear Friends of Craig Doss,

My name is H. Eric Clark, and I am the President and Principal of Loyola Academy. Loyola Academy is a Jesuit Nativity middle school for boys in grades 6 through 8, located in the Grand Center neighborhood of the City of St. Louis, Missouri. The school's mission is to serve low-income boys who have the academic potential for college preparatory work, but whose progress may be impeded by poverty, residence in distressed neighborhoods, and other economic or social circumstances. We conduct a challenging program that supports families in preparing each student to achieve his full human potential. Loyola Academy is an environment that puts our students on the road to become "men for others" in the Jesuit tradition of service and leadership.

Over the past five years, 100% of our graduates have been accepted into Saint Louis University High School (SLUH), John Burroughs School, Christian Brothers College Prep, Cardinal Ritter College Prep, DeSmet Jesuit High School, MICDS, and other college preparatory high schools in the St. Louis metropolitan area. To date, more than 100 young men have graduated from Loyola Academy, while more than 30 have been able to attend SLUH. As you are well aware, all of the above schools are tuition based and some of our students' families continue to struggle financially.

The SLUH friends and schoolmates of Craig have helped defer some of the educational costs by hosting their annual fundraising event. With your continued support with time, talent, and treasure, our graduates are able to achieve part of their educational goals. Thank you for ALL that you do and will continue to do to help Loyola Academy students. Your kindness helps to break the cycle of poverty through education while allowing a boy to become a "young man for others" at SLUH.

Blessings,

H. Eric Clark

President and Principal of Loyola Academy
